“She likes him. He likes her. Everyone knows. Except them.”
Lot's happened during winter break. I found out that Mary was leaving school and taking time off.
When I got back to school for winter quarter Amy told me that she decided to leave. That meant that I had the dorm room to myself. Most would be excited by that, but since I hated to be alone, it wasn't fun at all. Just stressful. I was losing my best friend. I spent the week after Amy left trying to find a new roommate but no luck.
I tried making friends in my classes. There was this girl Debra in my drawing class, and we bonded over the fact we were drawing the same still life. She was a tough chick, and opinionated, but a good friend.
We ate dinner together later that day, and I met other people through her. There was Sabrina, who was also in our drawing class. She had black hair and was very in touch with her emotions. There was Mark, who was filled with personality and life with his expressions and his long curly brown hair. And finally, Daniel, who was wise, grounded, and the most brilliant friend one could ever have.
I met Daniel when Debra and Sabrina took me to the soccer field behind the dorms to play. For the first time since Amy left, I had fun and was happy. Soccer was every Wednesday.
Wednesday was my favorite day of the week because it was the day I could let out all my anger by kicking the soccer ball as hard as I could. Not that I had much anger at that point, but it was a huge stress reliever.
The only downer was that my school emailed me saying I had to find a new room since I hadn't found a new roommate. So by luck, the room right above me had a space open, and I decided to move in.
Sadly my two new roommates didn't like me very much because I believed in air conditioning, whereas they didn't because they were from China. The rest of Winter Quarter they left passive aggressive notes when there was a disagreement. It was childish.
XOXO Anna
