Campus food is a 50/50 shot of getting something good, or something completely inedible. As someone with an eating disorder, who is extremely picky, food was a huge issue for me going off to college.
First there's the whole nervousness of whether you know someone or you might end up eating alone. Then, depending on whether food is or isn't an issue, you have to pick out what you like.
For those who can afford going on to lunch or dinner with friends every once in a while, I would suggest doing so. Cafeteria food is repetitive and boring. So going out once in a while can change things up, and make things more enjoyable.
